2015 Capiaux Cellars Widdoes Vineyard Pinot Noir Russian River Valley

(93 Points) The 2015 Pinot Noir Widdoes Vineyard, which comes from the cold Green Valley sub-region of the Russian River, sees a lot of new oak by Capiaux's standards (65%). The wine displays a touch of smoky spice, almost barbecue-like notes in the background, but there's great fruit - black cherries, blackcurrants, and hints of floral and forest floor notes.
