This is 100% French oak barrels but very little new oak, this is the top wine from this estate owned by Michel Chapoutier, he bought this vineyard in 1997 and this is a very northern Rhone style with a solid core of blackberry fruit with an almost liqueur like concentration on the nose, dark spices, licorice and violet floral notes very intense and rich bouquet of aromas. A big and chewy wine with lots of dark spices, licorice and bitter coco with fine tannins very fresh and a firm hand of acidity on the finish, a big wine but still very balanced and a very long layered finish. Finish 50+ Most Excellent +
