2021 Matsu El Picaro Toro

The pictures on the label of various age vineyard workers refer to the age of the vines and the time the wine spends in oak, this one is only 6 weeks of new French oak, the soils are very sandy thus the fact that they have never had phlyoxera, 60-90 year old vines, a very fuity bouquet dark cherry liqueur like fruit wild strawberry jam and a bit of fresh steak like meaty notes. Lovely richness on the tongue here with a good hand of fresh cherry berry fruit, smooth round tannins and a nice amount of spice and floral notes through the finish. Finish 40+ Excellent
