(92 points) The 2005 Numanthia was aged for 19 months in new French oak. Opaque purple, it has a superb perfume of violets, mineral, wood smoke, blueberry, and blackberry. This leads to a firm, very structured wine with questionable balance. The finish is long but tannic. This is a wine that demands cellaring but purchasing it is a gamble.
