2022 Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy Sancerre La Grand Rue Loire, image

New small cuvee made from the oldest vineyard of the estate planted 1936. 100% Sauvignon blanc from 86 year-old vines, hand-picked and sorted, very gentle pneumatic press and fermented in large ovoid oak (from the new and excellent Gonet Lacroix Tonnellerie not far from Sancerre) on fine lees for 11 months. Fabulous depth and complexity yet light on its feet with ample acidity and great line and length. An outstanding new addition to the range made in very small quantities. Very Limited. The 2022 Sancerre “la Grand Rue” from Domaine Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy is a beautifully complex and refined example of this outstanding Sancerre vintage. The bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of lime, tart orange, green apple, complex chalky minerality, gentle grassy notes, white lilies and orange blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, bright and full-bodied, with a lovely core of fruit, excellent transparency and cut, zesty acids and impeccable balance on the long, complex and very classy finish. This is excellent juice! 2024-2032. 92+. John Gilman, View from the Cellar, July 2024
