2015 Fontodi Dino

Named “Dino” to honor of Fontodi owner-winemaker Giovanni Manetti’s father, Dino Amphora embodies its pure Italian spirit and honors its Tuscan heritage by aging in orci, or Tuscan-styled amphora crafted of Tuscan clay, made by Manetti Gusmano & Figli, Dino Manetti’s family business that still makes terracotta tiles today. This mono-varietal Sangiovese ferments with natural yeasts for thirty to forty days; the wine ages in orci for eight to ten months, followed by two months in stainless steel before resting in bottle.
