(92 Points) The 2011 Montevetrano is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Aglianico and 20% Merlot. This has been the blending configuration since 2010. Back when the wine was first made in 1991, Cabernet Sauvignon was by far the greatest part of the blend (at 90%), but the native Aglianico grape has slowly grown in prominence over the years. This great Campania-blended red shows very nicely in the warm vintages such as 2011. It reveals dark and succulent fruit flavors with bold cherry, blackberry, mild spice and leather.
