2009 Mocali Brunello di Montalcino

This is an estate that was acquired by the Ciacci family (distant relations to Ciacci Piccolomini) in the 1950s, The setting is one of natural Tuscan beauty where vineyards and olive groves alternate with oak and pine forests. This wine spent 36 months in cask, sweet cherry fruit,  You get some of that pine in the nose with red berry fruit and notes of underbrush and sage.  This is a very easy drinking wine with pretty cherry and wild strawberry fruit along with smooth silky tannins and a nice hand of spice, tobacco and earthy notes through the finish.  Drinking nicely right now ans should continue to do so for another 5-7 years in your cellar.  Finish 40+  Excellent
