The 80% Grenache content of this wine gives it a girth and an opulence that may not suit everyone, but surely makes it an impressive example of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Just to smell it is to bathe in garrigue- and chocolate-tinged cherry juice, while in the mouth it is huge, lush and creamy in texture. It’s long, picking up additional spice notes on the finish. Drink now–2025.
