A meaty, masculine and structured effort, the 2005 Cote Rotie Brune et Blonde is a serious wine that still needs another 2-4 years or bottle age to hit full maturity. Tar, asphalt, crushed rock and gunpowder are just some of the nuances here, and it’s medium to full-bodied, concentrated and tannic on the palate, with brilliant mid-palate density.
