2023 Faiveley Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru

(92-94 Points) Aromas of vine smoke, incense, plums and spices introduce the 2023 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, lively wine framed by powdery tannins. It's more taut and brooding that the lavish Echézeaux that preceded it in this tasting. Jérôme Flous and his team can't seem to put a foot wrong at Faiveley; and given the high level of vineyard management and skill and precision brought to bear in the winery and the cellar, I think it's fair to say this is one of the finest larger domaine and négociant operations in Burgundy in terms of both quality and consistency. The 2023 vintage has delivered a crop of supple, sensual reds and fleshy but precise whites that will offer broad drinking windows.(WK)  Wine Advocate, Review Date: 01/2025
