(89 points) "The 2023 Chorey-lès-Beaune 'Vieilles Vignes' from Vincent Rapet is raised in thirty percent new oak. The wine offers up a bright and complex bouquet of cherries, pomegranate, woodsmoke, gamebird, a lovely base of soil, a touch of whole clusters and just a dollop of new oak. On the palate the wine is bright, full-bodied and nicely transparent down to its soil, with a good core of red fruit, bouncy acids, fine-grained tannins and a long, nascently complex finish. This is a properly structured young red Burgundy and will need some cellaring time to start to stir. Good juice. 2031-2060. (May/Jun 2025)" John Gilman (View From the Cellar)
