2015 Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg 1er Cru Nuits St. Georges "Les Chaignots

(90-93 points) Bright ruby-red. Very ripe aromas of pure black cherry and spices. Densely packed, round and spicy but less obviously sweet than the Vosne villages, showing a slightly medicinal kirsch quality and an impression of youthful reserve. Velvety in the middle but the wine's ripe, building tannins are a bit less refined than those of the Vosne-Romanée. Firm acidity contributes to the impression of grip. Marie-Christine Mugneret believes that this wine will be a relatively early drinker but that it will still need five years of cellaring.
