2022 Domaine du Salvard Rouge Cheverny

A blend of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Gamay, in some years they add 5% Malbec, this wine has tart red cherry fruit, pretty floral notes and some fresh earth and has a bit of a peppery spice almost tequila like quality to the bouquet. No malactic and all stainless here with all of the wines, they are looking to keep the freshness and focus on the terroir fo the region, very distinct mineral driven wines. Very fresh and bright red berry fruit, this would be great slightly chilled on a hot summer day, tart red cherry fruit, raspberry and that peppery/spice nuance from the nose through the finish, almost gives you the impression of effervescence.
