2013 Starmont Pinot Noir Carneros
Description: 100% Pinot Noir
Wine Notes: Our 2013 bottling displays a medium garnet color and delivers aromas of red cherry, strawberry, green tea and floral notes. The palate is round and soft, with refreshing acidity, and the volume and weight of a wine in balance. The finish features fine tannins, additional complexity, and some subtle earthy notes. The depth and structure of this wine are a reflection of great terroir and intensive farming methods.
Vineyard Notes: Over 40 years ago, Carneros helped launch a revolution in California Pinot Noir. The cool climate and marine-based soils are ideal for this finicky variety
Production Notes: For more complex aromatics and flavors we performed both open- and closed-top fermentations, depending on the character of the lots, using native and cultured yeast. The wine was aged for nine months in French oak barrels.
