The winery started this label in 1958 and it is in the third generation, they have 59 of the 100 hectares total so they are over 1/2 of the appellation. This is from the young vines and is 100% Nebbiolo aged for 10 months in Slovenian oak, this wine has a rather rustic quality to it dried cherry, fine herbs and black spices, tar and black truffle. There are only 3 producers of Gattinara in the export market and only 5-6 local producers. This is a nice entry level nebbiolo with soft tannins and lovely freshness through the finish featuring a distinct minerality. Very Good
