2011 Elvio Cogno Barolo Bricco Pernice

The hillside of the partridge, Lampia colones, this wine sees a bit longer time in oak and has a more earthy, rustic approach on the nose, an array of dried herbs and minty notes to the red cherry berry fruit very rich and well endowed bouquet of aromas, red licorice spice. A big and chewy wine on the tongue with layers of exotic spice and fresh earth/truffle and tar like notes, lots of tannins but this wine has lots of everything else, that exotic spice all the way to the end, this is a classic vintage for Barolo and these wines will be better in 10+ years.
