2016 Clos du Clocher Pomerol (MAGNUM)

(95 Points)  A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc, the 2016 Clos du Clocher has a deep garnet color. It needs a little swirling to uncover notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries and preserved plums, plus suggestions of licorice, charcuterie, and tapenade, with a waft of black truffles. Full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-coating, spicy black fruits with a refreshing backbone and velvety tannins, finishing long and peppery. (LPB)   Review Date: 12/2022  The Wine Independent
