2014 Barboursville Viognier Reserve Virginia

There are 6 different AVA's in Virginia, the soils here are all red clay, loamy and gentle rolling hills, this famous estate is 900 acres, 180 of which are vineyards. There are some variations in soils but it is mostly slope. This wine has a fruity bouquet, lychee nuts, white peaches, fermented in stainless steel and old barrique with 10 months on the lees picking earlier gives them less alcohol with notes of pretty flowers not too perfumy. A fresh and clean style of Viognier with nice balance and just the right touch of light floral perfumed spice on the finish. Finish 35+ Very Good+
