The Companhia was founded in 1870 but was later absorbed into Justino Henriques decades. The 1795 was its most famous wine which appeared a number of times at auction in the 1970’s. There was some bottle variations probably because some wine was bottled at different times thus spending more time in wood. The wine was probably bottled the 1960’s or 1970’s. Approximately forty four bottles were known to have been sold since 1971. The 1795 CVM was also at one time in the late 70’s or early 80’s sold in England by Corney & Barrow wine merchants in London. Some bottles of CVM had wicker tops but the ones sold by Corney had labels and foil capsules. There may have only been 2 dozen of these this is a very rare wine indeed!
