2014 Pascual Toso Magdalena Mendoza Argentina

Paul Hobbs & Rolando Luppino best selection of 28 best oak barrels of Malbec, the Magdalena is characterized by its intense red color. With notes of violets and plums, this wine combines Malbec with a touch of the best Cabernet Sauvignon to give more consistency through sweet tannins. Ripe, juicy raspberry fruit. Lovely boysenberry and raspberry fruit, and plenty of vanilla, spice and chocolate, too. Fairly round and inviting.

This is a blend of 80% Malbec, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon with only 23 Barrels produced this is the wineries top wines and the only other wine that consultant Paul Hobbs puts his name on other than his Vina Cobos wines all French Oak.  Dark currant and plum like fruit with fine herbs, dark chocolate, Sweet tobacco spice and more very complex bouquet of aromas.  Wow, this wine is huge with everything rich ripe currant and plum fruit with a host of that spice and nuance from the nose through the finish, this wine needs time but has everything in proportion.  Finish 50+    KILLER
