While most of the Cabernet Sauvignon in Mendoza is planted in the High Mendoza River region, we at Luminis like our Cabernet Sauvignon from the Valle de Uco region because of the cooler climate characteristics we are being able to achieve with grapes from this area: good acidity, proper maturation of the grapes, great expression of fruit, and an elegant and smooth finish that stands this wine apart from most of the Cabernet Sauvignons being produced today in Argentina. In general, only 5% of the wine goes through new French oak for 12 months for increased complexity, texture, and roundness. Total production for the 2013 vintage: 2,200 cases
