(90 Points) A real discovery for me, this Mendoza winery has turned out an absolutely sensational blend of Bonarda and Malbec to create the Alma Negra 2012 M Blend. Offering up loads of deep black cherry, strawberry and blackberry fruit, a hint of spring flowers, terrific texture, a medium-bodied mouthfeel and silky opulence, this is a gorgeous wine from vineyards at a 3,600-foot elevation. The Bonarda seems to give the wine an uplifted fruit quality and the Malbec a more serious density and richness. This is a big-time winner and also a great package, since Alma Negra means “Black Soul,” and the picture on the label is indeed sinister. Drink it over the next 1-2 years. Wine Advocate #211
