2015 Colome Malbec Estate Valle Calchaqui

The vineyards for this wine are located at around 7500 and 8500 feet, making this is the highest part of Salta. This wine has some Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Syrah in the blend and is aged in 25% new French oak here with a very polished bouquet of violet floral notes with thick blackberry, black raspberry like fruit with fresh black earth, dark coco and espresso like notes very complex, a big and chewy wine on the tongue with layers of dark berry fruit, dark spices, espresso and a long layered finish, big but has wonderful freshness and a long layered finish, lots of everything. If the price is correct on this one it is the best value I have had this year from Argentina. Finish 50+ Most Excellent
