2025 Penfolds Max's Chardonnay Adelaide Hills

Winemaker Notes: Very pale straw color. On the nose, first notes of white nectarine, fuzzy peach skin, red papaya and mineral-slatey flint. A little time in the glass reveals white pepper, orange blossom, and classic French 'praliné aux cacahuètes'. A suggestion of French oak frames the fruit with nutty, spice notes. On the palate, the wine exudes a wonderful density, with both tension and power present in equal measure. The texture is creamy, while flavours of white peach bellini and juicy, lemony citrus complement one another. Salivating acid lingers in the mouth. Effortlessly elegant.
