2021 Addax Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Winery's Note

THE WINE A complex medley of orchard fruit featuring McIntosh apple, bosc pear and quince jump out of the glass mixed with flinty mineral notes reminiscent of spring rain on mountain rocks. The palate echoes the orchard fruit with added notes of caramelized ginger, Meyer lemon and hawthorne flowers. Creamy flavors and texture that evoke a vanilla bean panna cotta with citrus zest. Extended time on the lees in French oak barrels rounds out the fruit flavors and adds to the silky, creamy texture. This is a chardonnay that works well with any occasion from sipping on its own to pairing with the finest haut cuisine.

THE VINEYARDS Three unique vineyards give different facets to a complete chardonnay package. The Ritchie Vineyard brings fruit weight and power with lush mouthfeel and texture. The Purrington- Rued Vineyard displays exotic floral notes to the fruit. The Steiner vineyard planted to old vine Robert Young clone keeps the crisp acidity and minerality. Extended time on the lees in the barrel rounds out the vineyard characters with creamy flavors.
