(96 Points) The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Janeen is another head-turning wine from this estate. Lots of loamy earth, spice, iron, and smoked red and black fruits define the bouquet, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins, a great mid-palate, and the balance and class to drink nicely today yet also evolve for 15-20 years. 2018 Janeen Cabernet Sauvignon from Sage Ridge
From a vineyard planted at 1500 ft elevation, meter by meter so the vines are incredibly dense, on a site that is at a 30-degree slope, this wine shows an intensity that comes from its origins. Lively and energetic, the blue and purple fruits compete for your attention. On the platelet, the natural acidity screams for something rich and hearty and the tannins coat the palate and give way to a long, lingering finish.
