We collectively think the 2016 is one of the best Reserve Cabernets we have ever made (and, yes, we think the same thing about the 2015). Notes of boysenberry, wild cherry, coffee, walnut, anise, and graphite emerge in the nose and mouth. The texture is powerful, intense and unforgettable. You won't want to miss this one. 71% of the 2016 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from our Rock Arch cabernet block, the block that produces our most intense wine, with penetrating flavors, inky blue-black color, and a minutes-long finish. To this powerhouse, we blend in 25% of our Carolyn's vineyard cabernet, a ripe, floral and red-fruit driven wine with an opulent mouthfeel. The finishing touch, as with the Reserve Claret, is just a hint of petit verdot for balance and complexity.
