2013 Harbison Estate Pony Express Oakville

I’ve elevated the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Pony Express to a perfect score. (Last year I gave it 96+.) This wine is incredible, with great intensity, loads of incense, graphite, blackberry and cassis, spring flowers, an inky, full-bodied mouthfeel, and fabulous fruit purity, texture and length. This amazing wine should drink effortlessly for 25 or more years. This was an incredible showing for the Harbison wines, which are made by Russell Bevan. They come from a fabulous vineyard in Oakville, sandwiched between some legends of that area, such as Screaming Eagle, Rudd, Plumpjack and Backus. (RP)  Review Date: 10/2016
