Winemaker Notes

Multiple layers of cinnamon spice, cherry and plum, some chocolate, and the sweet scent of cedar. Moderate tannins are soft and elegant, and the black cherry fruit typical of Karas Vineyard lingers long on the palate. Elegant and well-balanced. The 1997 vintage is a stellar one, highly concentrated. Bottled unfiltered.

Our objective is to let the vineyard make the wine. Our selection of Cabernet produces tiny berry clusters with concentrated flavors. We employ minimum handling and extended skin contact to ensure flavor extraction, balanced tannins and long lived wines.
