2016 Musella Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC

First year of production: 1995



Vineyard: Corvina and Corvinone 85%, Rondinella 10% and Barbera 5%



Geographical Location: Veneto – Italy Northeast of Verona, in the hill that divides Montorio from the Valle d’Illasi



Extension: 27 hectares of new furnishing plant – 8 hectares of pergola

20 hectares for rent by guyot.

Plant date: 1960 to 2015.



Composition of the soil: Limestone with prevalence of iron red clay in the vineyards The Perlar and Palazzina, medium tufa clay dough in the Mount of the Dragon



Strains per hectare: 6500 in guyot and 4500 in pergola



Harvest: September 3 to October 5.



Yield per plant: 2 kg.



Climate trend: The 2016 vintage was the perfect year, the one that happens every ten or

twelve years. Regular winter and spring, summer which was moderately

warm and with some useful rain on a very regular basis.

Harvest without rain. The perfect balance of the plants, has produced

one of the best wines we’ve ever produced. Top!



Winemaking technique: 100% of Valpolicella Superior wine is REPASSED on skins

Amarone’s not fully pressed. Peel-to-must maceration

12-15 days at uncontrolled natural temperature. Periodic resafters.

Racking. Malolactic fermentation. Transfer to barrels from

350 lt, 500 lt and 3500 lt oak French. Ripening period 12

Months. A review that does not wither the grapes.



Alcohol: 14% vol



Total acidity: 5.80 gr/l



PH: 3.35



Sugary residue: 2.50 g/l



Notes: Ruby red. Stylish to the nose with notes of red fruits and spices

and a fine aroma of wood. Body, balanced between tannins and acidity.
