A blend of 70/30 Sangiovese/Cabernet Sauvignon, made for the first time in 1985, the name is a take on the family namesake, has a good amount of fresh plowed black earth, dark licorice spice and black truffle, nice complexity here on the nose. 16 months in larger oak, this wine has a very complex and nuanced bouquet. An old world fashioned wine on the tongue with a good amount of that nuance from the nose through the finish, a forward and drinkable wine but balanced and should last a few years in the cellar.
