2014 Palmaz Cedar Knoll Cabernet Sauvignon Napa

This winery is 22 stories into the side of a mountain, they now only produce 800 cases, a good amount of dark currant, cassis berry fruit and sweet tobacco spice and dark spices, dark coco and some earthy notes. This brand used to be at around 3500 wines but now they have a winery direct product where they are using the fruit for these wines are all estate bottled, they are all mountain vineyards and located in the Coombsville AVA of Napa. The production on this wine went up on Palmaz from 1400 to 800 cases, this wine has a good amount of dark cherry and currant berry fruit with sweet tobacco spice, 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 9% Petit Verdot, 1% Malbec and 2% Cabernet Franc.  Lush rich berry fruit on the tongue, very drinkable with a good amount of spice and earth on the finish, lovely balance.  Finish 45+    Excellent +
