2011 Amalaya Malbec Gran Corte Altura

This is the same blend just oak aged planks in the take version, this type of process is becoming more and m,ore popular and it more effective than oak ships. Altura just mean high elevation and this wine has a very similar nose with blackberry, blackraspberry fruit but with some toaty oak spice and fresh earth and dark chocolate and licorice notes. A big and chewy wine on the tongue nice jammy fruit but also good freshness and balance through the finish, has some tobacco, coffee and licorice spice along with notes of black earth through the finish.
