2009 Santa Rita Casa Real Cabernet Sauvignon Maipo

Produced form the Carneros Viejo vineyard in the Alto Jahuet Estate in the Maipo Valley this wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 100% French oak for 16 months. There is a good hand of fresh plowed earth, coffee, cigar wrapper spice to the red currant and plum like fruit, a big and well endowed wine on the nose. A big and chewy wine on the tongue with layers of dark berry fruit, spices and fresh earth, coffee and a good amount of ripe fruit tannins present but ripe and round very well balanced. finish 50+ Even better on the second day, the sign of a wine that will age in the bottle with fresh earth that peppery spice and dark coco and espresso notes through the finish.
