2009 Renato Ratti Barolo Marcenasco

A single vineyard Barolo from La Morra and this wine has that classic Barolo bouquet of fresh earth, tar, truffle, rose petal notes to the red cherry fruit, and there is some small barrique used here so you get some of that spice from the oak but not too much, nicely managed. A good amount of ripe forward red cherry berry fruit on the tongue with pretty floral notes and exotic spices through the finsih, some dry tannins at the end but very forward and appealing even in its youth.
