2009 Bindi Sergardi Chianti Classico Riserva

A single vineyard wine and the vineyard is 27 years old today with vines going back to the 1960's, 3% Merlot in the mix 18 months in barriques and then another year in the bottle, older wines give this wine more finess, this wine has a classic nose of wild strawberry and red cherry fruit along with porcinin mushroom that fresh earth, underbrush, sage and dried meats like notes to the nose, nice complexity here. A big and chewy wine on the tongue with ripe tannins here this wine has a nice amount of forward fruit here but very good structure and nice freshness echoing the nuance from the nose through the finish.
