2018 Hartford Court Zinfandel Old Vines Russian River Valley
All of the Hartford wines are made from 100 year old vines, they give you concentration and richness but also offer incredible balance you get plenty of bright acidity, no raisin plum and prune fruit, you get more blackberry and black cherry notes, white pepper spice and fenel, lovely complexity on the nose. There is a sprinkling of Petite Syrah Carignan and Alicante Bouche planted in these old vinards and these varietals add a nice spice and complexity to the wines. Some of these grapes come from a vineyard in Don's backyard and then several of his neighbors, they steal barrels from their single vineyard wines also. A good amount of juicy fruit on the tongue with an array of that nuance and spice from the nose on the finsih along with bright zesty acidity, a very rich but balanced style of Zinfandel.
