2013 Martinelli Giuseppe & Luisa Zinfandel Russian River Valley MAGNUM

The 2013 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa (16.3% as well) is another wine made from Jackass Hill clonal material. These are younger vines, but the wine displays plenty of black cherry liqueur, blackberry, charcoal, barbecue smoke, meat and almost Asian soy and spice. It is a full-bodied, full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal style of Zinfandel to drink over the next decade. Luckily, this is the biggest cuvée of 2013 Zinfandel, checking in 664 cases total. (RP)
