2021 St Cosme Cote Rotie

Winemakers Notes:

100% Serine (ancient variety of Syrah). Whole cluster fermentation. Schist and mica-schist in the Semons, But de Mont, Les Bercheries, Maison Rouge, Rozier, Cote Rozier, Besset and Bodin named vineyards. Twelve months’ ageing: 30% in new casks – 70% in casks used for one wine. What a vintage in Cote Rotie! It has been a long time since I have achieved such incredible wines. When you taste every cask and every single one is stellar, it’s like visualising the palette of colours an artist uses. The different vineyard sites express themselves so precisely and in such a beautiful way that you wonder if this is not the finest terroir in the world.
