2011 Domaine Georges Vernay Syrah De Mirbaudie

An old apple orchard turned into a vineyard near the village of Condrieu in the northern Rhone in an area known as Collines Rhodaniennes. This wine has a good amount of fine herbs and peppery spice, licorice, along with dried flowers and smoked meaty notes on to the red plum and dark cherry like fruit. A very spced and zesty wine on the tongue with an array of fine herbs, bright red and black berry fruit and pretty floral notes through the finish, very bright and high toned, a nice zest and spice to the finish.
