2019 Arietta On the White Keys Napa

Arietta White Wine On The White Keys, a white Bordeaux-inspired blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, is the second vintage Arietta’s white wine. Arietta’s winemaker Andy Erickson sourced three outstanding blocks of hillside Sauvignon Blanc on Sonoma Mountain, and with the addition of two tiny blocks of old vine Semillon farmed by the highly respected Napa/Carneros grower Larry Hyde, fashioned a wine of remarkable complexity. Fermented in a combination of stainless steel along with a little new oak and mostly 1 year old oak, this wine is a blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc (from hillside vineyards on Sonoma Mountain) and 15% old vine Semillon form the Carneros district of Napa. Like a great white wine from Graves/Pessac-Leognan, this wine has a great texture and depth with rich, white fruits, honeysuckle, citrus zest and beautiful concentration. Behind all this is a stoney minerality and zesty acidity to balance it all out.
