2020 Fanti Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

(92 Points) Fanti's 2020 Brunello di Montalcino shows a dark core of black cherry and plum that is framed by lighter tones of brandied fruit and tropical rum. The heat and intensity of the vintage is played forward in terms of the bouquet and also in the glycerin-rich texture of the mouthfeel. The tannins are nearly resolved with fine texture. Hot air in the summer accumulates in the beautiful valley where this estate is located. I recommend a near or medium-term drinking window for this 40,000-bottle release.  Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
