2016 Tenuta di Ghizzano Il Ghizzano Costa Toscana

They own 20 hectares and all of the wines are all estate grown, the DOC is Colline Piscane. This is a blend of 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot this is all organically grown and this is a new IGT for me. this wine has that traditional underbrush, fine herbs from Tuscany, there is no oak in the blend to muck things up here, light red berry fruit, strawberry, a very fresh and fruity wine with a nice herbal and earthy note. Soft and easy drinking style with a nice hand of zesty spice and a good amount of those underbrush notes through the finish. Finish 35+ Very Good +
