2015 Verbena 'Le Pope' Brunello di Montalcino

This is a new, single-vineyard wine from Verbena. The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Le Pope is driven by dark, sultry fruit and sweet oak. Those two contrasting sides of the wine build a powerful fruit profile and determined momentum. The fruit is strong and well defined in this vintage; however, there is a lot of oak spice and toast added to the mix, calling for some smoked brisket.
