*Outstanding* From vines planted between 1937 and 1942. Here there is better integration of the wood with a soaring nose of red and black berry fruit, stone and a crushed herb component that is not vegetal in character that leads to finer and more detailed middle weight flavors that culminate in a dusty, sweet, minerally and firm finish that is beautifully balanced and deep. There is a chewy quality to the backend yet the class of the tannins is evident. Review Date: 01/2008
