2015 Mad Violets Mantis Reserve Pinot Noir

Winemaker Notes: As always, this bottling is a vintage selection of our absolute favorite barrels. This year’s 2015 Mantis blend is 100% from our own Buttonfield Estate Vineyard! The two clones are 777 and Pommard, a perennial favorite clonal blend of Kelly’s. The color is deep with violet and garnet tones, which translate as lavender pastilles and dried roses with rich black plum and wild strawberry notes in the nose and on the palate. The approach is smooth and layered with spice and bright acidity. The finish is rich with fine tannins that make the flavors linger. This wine is drinking beautifully now and will easily age for fifteen plus years. 150 cases produced.
