(Tasting Notes)
The 2011 Red Stitch Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir is our first vineyard designate Pinot Noir, and our first vintage from the coveted Santa Lucia Highlands.
The 2011 Red Stitch Soberanes Vineyard Pinot Noir reveals an elegant bouquet of warm baked cherry pie and crushed rose petals layered with scents of fresh Douglas-fir, shaved nutmeg and wet stone. Deep crimson/scarlet in color, this beautifully structured wine reveals ripe red fruit, dried hibiscus, cinnamon spice and perfectly integrated oak.
The cool, long growing season in 2011 is the signature of this special vineyard, situated in the bench-lands of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Foggy mornings dissipate thanks to the fierce winds off of the Pacific Ocean, which keep the grapes cool during warm days. The wine's crisp acidity and ripe tannins speak to the terrior and allow Red Stitch to cultivate a wine that is ready to drink today and will also grow more complex for years to come.
