2011 Monsecco Massotondo Colline Novaresi Uva Rara image

Often used to soften Nebbiolo in the Piedmont, an old varietal that is commonly mistaken for Bonarda and this is used as a blending grape in Gattinara, a nice cherry berry fruit on the nose wth pretty floral notes.  A good amount of cherry fruit on the tongue with smooth round fine tannins, a nice weight to the palate with a fresh finish laced with earth and floral nuance.  Finish 40+ Excellent +
