(96 Points) "Scavino first bottled Monvigliero as a separate single-vineyard wine in 2007. Only 0.83 hectares in size and situated on limestone soils, its proximity to the Tanaro river moderates the microclimate. The nose is intense and pungent, exhibiting pure red fruits and no balsamic tones. The attack is lush but also forthright and vibrant, the stunning fruit supported by underlying acidity. Very concentrated, it shows welcome austere grip. Textured but elegant, this imperious Barolo is built to last, and the finish is exceptionally long."  DECANTER
